How to Make Marmalade Cream Cheese Coffee Cake

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a bundt pan with Pam.

  2. Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, sugar, and orange marmalade. Beat until smooth.

  3. Prepare the Coating: Melt butter in a microwave-safe dish and stir in the marmalade. Microwave for about 30 seconds to melt the marmalade. Let it cool for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently.

  4. Prepare the Sugar Coating: Place 1 cup (200 grams) of sugar in a shallow bowl.

  5. Set Up the Workstation: Arrange your workspace with a cutting board to prepare the biscuits. You’ll also need the bowl with the cream cheese mixture, the sugar bowl, and the bowl with the melted marmalade and butter mixture.

  6. Stuff the Biscuits: Take a biscuit, flatten it out, and place a small dollop of the cream cheese mixture in the center. Fold the biscuit in half and pinch the edges together, similar to making a dumpling or ravioli. If the cream cheese is leaking out, try using less filling.

  7. Coat the Biscuits: Lightly dip the folded biscuit into the marmalade and butter mixture, then roll it gently in the sugar mixture to coat.

  8. Arrange the Biscuits: Place the biscuits into the pan with the seam side up. Arrange them in a circular pattern, like the spokes of a bicycle wheel.

  9. Finish Filling the Pan: Repeat the stuffing and rolling process until all the biscuits are in the pan and evenly layered.

  10. Bake the Cake: Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.

  11. Make the Glaze: While the cake is baking, combine the remaining sugar, marmalade and butter mixture, and orange juice in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly.

  12. Finish the Cake: Once the cake is done baking, remove it from the oven and immediately invert it onto a plate. Spoon the glaze evenly over the warm cake.
