  2. Slice the beef chuck steak into strips approximately 2×1 inches (or similar size). Add the beef strips to the slow cooker, ensuring they are fully immersed in the broth mixture.
  3. Cook on low for 3 hours.
  4. After three hours, whisk together the cornstarch and a portion of the liquid from the slow cooker in a small bowl until smooth. Pour this mixture back into the slow cooker along with the broccoli florets.

  • ⅔ cup (130 grams) brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 4-5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 pounds (about 900 grams) beef chuck steak, sliced into strips
  • ¼ cup (30 grams) cornstarch
  • 1 pound (about 450 grams) fresh broccoli florets

Instructions

  1. In the slow cooker, combine the beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and minced garlic. Stir well.
  2. Slice the beef into strips and add them to the slow cooker, ensuring they are fully coated in the sauce. Cook on low for 3 hours.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and ½ cup of the sauce from the slow cooker until smooth. Pour the mixture back into the slow cooker.
  4. Add the broccoli florets to the slow cooker and cook for an additional 30 minutes on low.
  5. Serve hot over your choice of accompaniment and enjoy!
