Cream Cheese Tortilla Snacks are a quick and delicious appetizer, seasoned with all-purpose seasoning and fried to perfection for a flavorful bite-sized treat. These irresistible bites are hard to resist, and with just four simple ingredients, you can have them ready to enjoy anytime! Plus, you can even make these in an air fryer for convenience!
Ingredients & Substitutions
- Tortillas: I used plain flour tortillas for this recipe, but you can experiment with flavored tortillas, such as jalapeno or sundried tomato, for a different twist.
- Cream Cheese: Room-temperature cream cheese works best for easy spreading.
- All-Purpose Seasoning: Also known as everything bagel seasoning, this can be found in the spice aisle at the grocery store, or you can make your own for maximum flavor.
- Butter: Unsalted butter is preferred for frying the tortilla bites. If using an air fryer, melt the butter to brush over each bite before air frying.
Making Cream Cheese Tortilla Snacks Ahead of Time
Yes, you can prepare these tortilla bites in advance! Fill, roll, and cut the bites a day before you plan to serve them. Store the bites in an airtight container or cover them with plastic wrap in the refrigerator. When ready to fry or air fry, let them come to room temperature for a few minutes, then cook as instructed.
Storing Cream Cheese Tortilla Snacks
- To Refrigerate: Let the bites cool to room temperature before storing them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven or an air fryer to restore crispiness. Reheating in the microwave may cause them to lose their crispiness.
- To Freeze: Cool the bites to room temperature, then store them in a freezer-safe container for up to 1-2 months. Reheat directly from frozen; no need to thaw first.
Ingredients
- 6 flour tortillas (8-inch / 20-centimeter)
- 1 package (8 ounces / 226 grams) cream cheese, room temperature, divided
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose seasoning, divided
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Instructions
Spread the Cream Cheese:
Spread the cream cheese evenly over the tortillas.
Season and Roll:
Sprinkle each tortilla with 1 teaspoon of all-purpose seasoning. Roll up the tortillas and cut them into 1-inch (2.5-centimeter) pieces. (I cut off the ends and cut the remaining part into 6 pieces, for a total of 36 bites. You can use the ends too if you prefer.)
Cook the Bites:
In a large nonstick pan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the bites and cook for about 1 minute, or until golden brown. Flip and cook the other side until golden brown.
Serve:
Serve the bites warm.
Enjoy these Cream Cheese Tortilla Snacks as a delicious appetizer or snack anytime!
