- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) milk
Glaze:
- 1 cup (120 g) powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) milk
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice each puff pastry sheet into six equal pieces.
- Arrange six pastry pieces on the prepared baking sheet, setting the other six aside.
- In a bowl, mix the apple pieces with brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Melt butter in a large pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the apple mixture and sauté for about 6 minutes until tender.
- Spoon 1-2 tablespoons of the apple filling onto the center of each pastry piece on the baking sheet.
- Whisk the egg and milk together to create an egg wash.
- Use a brush to apply the egg wash around the edges of the pastry pieces with filling.
- Place the remaining six pastry pieces on top of the filled ones. Press the edges together with your fingers, then seal them using a fork.
- Brush the tops with egg wash and bake for 18-20 minutes, until golden brown.
- While the pastries cool slightly, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled pastries and enjoy!
