Purple Power Grimace Cocktail

The Purple Power Grimace Cocktail is a vibrant purple alcoholic drink made with vodka, blue curacao, grenadine, and grape-flavored Powerade. Inspired by the iconic McDonald’s Grimace character, this drink is both visually striking and refreshingly delicious. Origins of the Purple Power Grimace Cocktail

Named after McDonald’s beloved Grimace character, this cocktail is a nod to its distinctive purple color. I first tasted this drink at a local golf course where it was known as a “purple people eater” or “SKOL” (in honor of the Minnesota Vikings). It’s a grape-flavored cocktail that packs a punch while remaining delightfully refreshing.

Ingredients & Substitutions

This cocktail requires just four main ingredients (plus ice):

  • Vodka: Use your favorite brand of vodka for this drink.
  • Blue Curacao: A blue liqueur with a citrus flavor, similar to triple sec. If blue curacao isn’t available, you can substitute with triple sec or Grand Marnier.
  • Grenadine: A non-alcoholic syrup made from pomegranate juice, it adds a nice color to the drink. Pomegranate molasses or juice can be used as a substitute.
  • Powerade: I used grape Powerade, but you can also use grape Gatorade. You only need enough to top off the drink.
