Kefir dough for dumplings is the best option for those who like puffy dumplings that look like pies. You can fry them the next day in butter and get delicious pies with a crispy crust.
Ingredients
- kefir, 200 g;
- flour, about 320 grams;
- pinch of salt;
- sugar, 1 tbsp;
- soda, 0.5 tsp;
- egg yolk, 1 pc;
- cherries, 500 g;
- sugar to taste.
Instructions
Kefir should be at room temperature, so that the baking soda reacts well in the fermented medium of the kefir and then the dough will be airy.
We sift the flour, mix most of it with salt, sugar and baking soda.
Pour in the kefir and knead the dough.
Sprinkle the table with flour and gradually add the rest of the flour, knead a soft and not sticky dough.
You may need more or less flour, but do not overdo it.
Cover the mass and leave it for 15 minutes.
Cherries are washed, remove seeds and leave to drain, then mix with sugar.
Tip: To prevent cherries from oozing juice further, add sugar directly to the dumpling, which will be formed. The process is a little longer, but there are fewer problems with the juice.
Form dumplings.
Cook dumplings in a double boiler for 7 minutes (or 4-5 minutes in a pot of water).
I serve such a delicious dish with sugar and sour cream, or simply with butter. Lush dumplings will be a great dish for lunch and dinner, guests can be surprised.
